| Take the tiniest imaginable piece of energy and spin it like a ball on a string. | | 
| At the same time, make its orientation change continuously, so rapidly that, instead of looking like a spinning disc, it looks like a sphere. | | 
| Now, consider a gyroscope. If you set a gyroscope spinning and place it on your hand, when you move your hand sideways in any direction, the gyroscope tries to remain where it is. This is "inertia" - the tendency of an object to stay where it is. | | 
| With this principle in mind, think of the spinning energy sphere as a gyroscope that is spinning and changing orientation rapidly, too. Now you have a particle that is reluctant to move in any direction because it has inertia. This is what gives matter its "solidity". |
This is the fundamental "particle" of which our universe is made. Clump a bunch of them together and you have an atom. Clump a bunch of these together and you have a molecule. Clump a bunch of those together and you have a table or an elephant. This is how matter is created and this is why matter has "inertia". (Try pushing an elephant.)
