Sunday - More Chilling Out (Mike)

September 27, 2009

Once again we awoke at dawn. It's getting to be a habit. We dressed, had a drink, then I stumbled about with our huge ladders and finally fitted the cords to the office ceiling fan. Eleni was planning to sell stuff at a table-top sale at Sinatra's bar in Georgioupoli (pronounced "YourYooPolly" but we are beginning to think of it, fondly, as "OurYooPolly"). So off we went to join her.

We arrived too early so we had a "number 3 breakfast" at the "Blue Moon" tavern, then sauntered back to Sinatras, where it was all happening.

Later we took a walk out of town along the Eucalyptus Avenue...

...where we saw sheep...

...and a bridge on a side-road.

After a short distance, we turned a corner and saw the National Road crossing our road.

To the right was the entrance to a seating area where we sat and watched ducks on a large pond - part of the river that flows into the sea at Georgioupolis. There was a German couple sitting there already so I chatted to them (in German) for a few minutes then they bid their goodbyes and left. I have that effect on people.

Odd-looking ducks! (The Greek for "duck" is "papeea".)

Back at the house, Jenny attacked a bush with shears that she found in the shed. I don't know what it did to offend her but I'm staying out of her way.
